Here we share information about Western Tours and Tales (WTT) and its affiliations. We offer Tourist Guiding services for visitors from home and abroad. Our services are aimed at those wishing to explore the enchanting mid-West region of Ireland.

A passion for Irish history and culture led to the setting up of the WTT Guiding service. It has gone from strength to strength. In recent years we have aligned our business with the Wild Atlantic Way brand region. We take great pleasure in helping visitors enjoy their dream holiday while in the mid-West.

Tour-leader, Gerard (Ger) Considine is the owner and operator of Western Tours and Tales. I am passionate about history and literature, an interest developed since a teenager. I grew up in County Clare on Ireland’s West Coast, an area rich in storytelling. It is these storytelling skills that bring the vibrant past alive for all who join my tours. I lived abroad for many years in the early 1980’s, an experience which significantly enriched my overall perspective. It furthered a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and people worldwide. I am now keen to share my enthusiasm for Irish history, culture and heritage with visitors exploring our native country.

On returning to Ireland, I worked in the telecommunications Industry. My career continued, spending several years in the Education Sector in an engineering and training role. From my training background, I was used to giving presentations and group talks.

Now resident in Galway, I saw the opportunity for an exciting career change and I retrained as a Tourist Guide. I am a Regional-qualified Guide to QQI6 Level and accredited by the Irish Tourism authority, Fáilte Ireland. I am a member of the Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland (ATGI) who provide a Book A Guide service and am affiliated to the Galway Civic Trust. Ger is a committee member Galway Tour Guides Association (GTGA), where I can be contacted directly for Tour requests. A passionate storyteller, I try to bring the history alive for guests on our tours through stories and characters. I pride myself in sharing insights and tales from these captivating mid-West regions!
